Gold Star Productions Inc. is an award-winning boutique film and television production company based in Vancouver, Canada on the unceded lands and ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Co-founder and President Ken Frith brings his seasoned producing experience and established industry relationships to all projects, including local and international sales agents, distributors and broadcasters. As a producer, Ken’s work has been showcased on CBC, Super Channel, BravoTV, NHK Japan, France Television, TV One, Netflix, Amazon and other platforms throughout the world.

Co-founder and Director of Production Jason Bourque has written and directed features, television movies, and TV series in over 8 countries for international companies and a wealth of broadcasters including CBC, A&E, TLC, Discovery Channel, ABC Australia, SyFy, Lifetime, Netflix and Starz International. Jason brings his creative energy to all Gold Star projects as he oversees productions from script to screen.

Collectively, Gold Star’s founders have worked on a combined 70 productions throughout the world. In 2014, Gold Star Productions Inc. expanded into the feature film market with the release of the award-winning, critically acclaimed feature “Black Fly”. Gold Star’s most recent theatrical feature “Drone”, starring Emmy-award winner Sean Bean, has been an international indie success, selling to over twenty-five territories. Upon its release this spring, “Drone” was the #1 Indie and #2 Thriller on Itunes US and has garnered positive reviews in The New York Times, Toronto Star and Globe and Mail to name a few.

Currently Gold Star is expanding its operations through strategic international partnerships and co-productions.
