R.L. Stine is back on the big screen with Zombie Town!

The family-friendly horror movie, starring Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase, has opened nation-wide, playing exclusively in movie theatres. In the film, directed by Peter  Lepeniotis, Amy (Madi Monroe) and Mike (Marlon Kazadi) uncover a centuries-old secret when they decide to watch an exclusive film reel. Before they know it, their town has been turned to the undead before their eyes. The duo must track down an infamous filmmaker (Dan Akroyd) and navigate a town of hungry zombies to break the curse before it’s too late. Gold Star Productions is proud to be part of the development team alongside Look Out Entertainment  and Toonz Media. 



R.L. Stine’s “Zombie Town” enters Pre-Production

In association with Toonz Media, Trimuse Entertainment, Look Out Entertainment and Hulu, Gold Star Productions has provided development  and writing services for the upcoming R.L. Stine movie “Zombie Town” starring Marlon Kazadi (Riverdale), Maddy Munro, Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase. “Zombie Town” is being directed by Peter Lepeniotis, (“The Nut Job”) an award-winning Canadian animator, director, screenwriter and producer.

Shannon Kohli to direct “West of the Sun”

Gold Star has officially teamed up with Shannon Kohli to direct and co-produce “West of the Sun”, a contemporary western thriller written by award-winning BC writer Kate Bond. Shannon Kohli has directed over 30 episodes of television including “Resident Alien”, “Firefly Lane”, “The Mysterious Benedict Society”, “You”, “Turner and Hooch”, “Another Life”, “The Magicians”, “Van Helsing”, “Supergirl”, “Nancy Drew”, “Riverdale”, and “Motherland: Fort Salem”.  Shannon directed her first feature film, “All Joking Aside”, in 2019. Shannon is represented by Michael Kolodny at Kaplan Stahler Agency.

“When Time Got Louder” World Premiere

Gold Star Productions Inc. is proud to announce the world premiere of “When Time Got Louder” at Frameline, San Francisco’s International LGBTQ+ film festival.

Departing for college, Abbie leaves her parents and brother who has autism and is non-verbal. As she explores her independence and sexuality, she’s torn between her new life and her love for her brother. Starring Willow Shields (“Hunger Games” series), Lochlyn Munro (‘Peacemaker”) and Elizabeth Mitchell (“Lost”).

“When Time Got Louder” will be screening at the historic Castro Theatre on Monday, June 20th at 12:30 PM, following a Q+A with Connie Cocchia and the lead cast. ⁣ “When Time Got Louder” is written, directed and produced by Connie Cocchia and produced by Jason Bourque and Ken Frith. Our award-winning creative team includes regular Gold Star contributors editor Asim Nuraney (“Drone”, “The Right One”) and cinematographers Nelson and Graham Talbot (“Drone”, “The Right One”).
